How to use the mute?

The Tourte round mute for cello and the Tourte violin shaped mute for cello are just slotted between the middle strings and slid up over the bridge if desired. The ebony mute, the Ultra mute and the Tonwolf Deluxe mute are just fixed on the bridge. This is important and so the cello bow can strike the strings effectually and the sound of the cello strings stays damped.

The Artino Hotel Mute for cello

The Artino Hotel mute for cello is to practice in a hotel because of its strong damping effect. So you can play with your cello bow and strings for hours without disturbing other hotel guests. With the aid of the two screws the distance of the two side pieces can be adjusted. Thereby the size of the mute can be adjusted optimally to the bridge on which it is fixed. The rubber-plated mute is made of massive metal.

Mutes for cello

The mute lowers the volume for the cello and effects nasal sound shades. So the cello bow can strike the strings effectually and the sound of the cello strings stays damped. There are mutes made of rubber, wood or metal. The mutes by Tourte and the Ultra mute are made of rubber. The ebony mute is just fixed on the bridge as well as the Tonwolf Deluxe mute which is made of metal.
