WHEN AND HOW WAS PAGANINO FOUNDED?
Back in 2001, it was still difficult to find strings for bowed string instruments online. This inspired us to start a mail-order business. Just six months later, we expanded our range to include essential accessories for string players. Cases, bows and sheet music followed shortly afterwards. When a qualified luthier joined our team, we also began offering high-quality student instruments.
HOW DID THE NAME “PAGANINO” COME ABOUT?
We wanted a memorable name that people would immediately associate with string instruments. Then, one day, inspiration struck! In the early days, some people confused Paganino with Papageno, but our name soon became established. Whether at Florence Airport, the violin-making trade fair in Cremona or the Frankfurt Music Fair, PAGANINO is a familiar name in the world of string instruments!
DOES EVERYONE AT PAGANINO PLAY AN INSTRUMENT? IS IT A REQUIREMENT FOR WORKING HERE?
No. In fact, team members with a particular interest in string instruments are in the minority. Relevant musical knowledge is, of course, essential for roles involving direct customer contact or helping customers find sheet music. But working in our warehouse or accounts department does not require you to know which rosin works best with Pirastro violin strings.
