BERDANI Violin – Linea Natura | Stradivari Model
The Linea Natura represents a modern approach to violin making, combining traditional craftsmanship, carefully selected tonewoods, and innovative materials into a harmonious and sustainable concept.
Handcrafted in the German BERDANI Master Workshop under the direction of master luthier Bernd Hiller, this violin was created for musicians who value tonal quality, reliability, and sustainable materials.
Highly flamed maple from the Swiss Alps is used for the back, ribs, and neck. The carefully selected spruce top is characterized by its low weight and exceptional stiffness. As a result, the instrument responds instantly to the finest nuances of the player and produces an open, vibrant, and expressive tonal character.
The underlying Stradivari model features balanced proportions and has been regarded for centuries as the benchmark for versatility and tonal balance. This violin combines clarity and projection with a pleasant warmth of tone. It offers quick response, precise articulation, and outstanding tonal stability across all registers.
Its strengths become particularly evident in both ensemble and solo performance. The sound remains focused, projecting, and nuanced without ever losing its natural character.
Sustainable Dark Paper Fittings
A defining feature of the Linea Natura is its complete set of Dark Paper fittings. The fingerboard, pegs, tailpiece, nut, saddle, and endpin are all crafted from this advanced high-performance material.
Berdani's Dark Paper
Dark Paper is manufactured from compressed paper fibers and phenolic resin, offering exceptional hardness and outstanding acoustic properties. In everyday use, the material is highly resistant to climate changes, perspiration, and moisture, maintaining its shape and surface quality even after years of intensive playing. Its superior wear resistance ensures that the fingerboard remains precise significantly longer than conventional materials. At the same time, its high density contributes to efficient energy transfer and clear tonal development. As no protected tropical hardwoods are used, no CITES documentation is required for international travel.
