The VIOLIN CASE

The violin case is needed so that the violin is protected and can be transported easily. The number of different models of instrument cases may initially be a bit confusing. Usually, we make a distinction between shaped cases, oblong cases and double cases. But there are also high-tech cases made of carbon. Many models are also available with case backpack systems.

Shaped case

The shaped cases are adapted to the shape of the violin. This makes them look elegant, very light and compact. Often they are made of wood, but there can also be ABS hard shell cases. In the lid there are often two fixations for two bows mounted. At the front, where the "scroll" comes to rest, there is a small compartment with a hinged lid. Here, rosin and the violin strings can be stored. Since the violin rests only on a few points by the suspension system, also the shoulder rest can be stored underneath the neck. Moreover, there is usually a large pocket for sheet music.

Oblong case

For oblong cases weight is a little higher. But there is a spacious accessory compartment for all accessories such as rosin, shoulder rest and violin strings. In the lid there are fixations for up to four bows attached. The suspension system for the violin is granted. Some violin cases have a built-in hygrometer and humidifier or a string tube. Especially professionals like to take a hardcase.

Double case

The professional, semi-professional or the violin teachers often needs a second instrument. Then the double case is a good solution. These wonderful double cases have two accessory pockets, four bow holders and usually a string tube. A removable instrument blanket and suspension system are standard.

Hightech cases made of carbon

If the violin case has to be almost undestroyable and light, then it has to be the BAM Hightech carbon-black violin case.
