AQUILA Half-Rectified Gut String for Baroque Violin
Experience the authentic sound of the Baroque era with the innovative
AQUILA Half-Rectified gut string for Baroque violin.
It combines historical craftsmanship with modern precision, delivering tonal aesthetics at the highest level.
While varnishing gut strings is a modern procedure that was never used in historical practice,
AQUILA relies on a method that stays much closer to the original:
the half-rectified strings are only partially ground,
replicating the traditional, manually polished surface –
without damaging the fibers as heavily as modern grinding techniques do.
The result is a string that is not only
more durable and more resistant to climate fluctuations,
but also offers improved acoustic properties and a
quicker, more efficient bow response – ideal for demanding players of Baroque music.
