OLIV bass string low B by Pirastro

Pirastro OLIV Double Bass String – Low B (Orchestra Tuning)

The original gut-string sound.
The Pirastro OLIV Low B string delivers an exceptionally big, deep and powerful gut-string tone: fat and forceful under the bow, dark, massive and punchy in pizzicato. It is designed for double bass players seeking a solid foundation with warmth and character – ideal for orchestral playing, solo arco performance, as well as old-time jazz and bluegrass.

Featuring a traditionally crafted gut core wound with chrome steel, the OLIV Low B string produces a deep, organic tone with great sonic depth and a lively, natural response.

• Bowed: very fat, projecting, and powerful
• Pizzicato: dark, warm, and focused with a strong foundation

Sound Character & Playing Feel

The OLIV Low B string responds sensitively to the bow while also handling strong bow pressure without losing stability or depth. Its deep, full tone provides the instrument with a confident foundation while remaining consistently warm and organic.
