In his new edition, Aleksey Igudesman goes far beyond what his previous Violin & Cello & More had to offer. In the first booklet (UE37119), the pieces were meant for beginners and advanced players to have fun and be challenged. But here there is no more holding back! In "Danny Boy" the cellist is confronted with double stops in tenor clef, and in "Pizzicato" both players face a devilishly fast sempre pizzicato. The issue leads through many styles, with Aleksey's reinterpretations of famous pieces by Mozart and Beethoven, to an outrageously virtuosic ending called "Double Trouble".
Even Aleksey says that it is "not exactly easy to play". Be warned! Wonderful fun and very challenging pieces, ideal for concert encores.
