The strings are spanned between the pegs and the tailpiece. For the two high strings, often made of steel, a string adjuster can be attached to the tailpiece. If the two other strings are also made of steel, it is also possible to add a string adjuster for them in addition. In this way the tuning of the instrument becomes easier.

The fine tuner by Fix is suitable for steel strings as well as synthetic strings. It is available in three types: fine tuner Fix black, fine tuner Fix nickel-plated and the fine tuner Fix black/gold.
