Bare gut string for treble viol (FU gut type)

The use of unsplit sheep gut is not only closer to the historical reality of string makers of the past, but has resulted in strings with unexpectedly superior acoustic and mechanical properties compared to those made with gut strips. The HU type strings have a surface that has only been flattened enough so that the string is not wrong; Then the string is lightly oiled.

Silver wound strings (Type FU)

The Aquila FU strings are made of pure silver with an undivided lambgut core with the aim of reproducing the typical materials and proportions of the wound strings of the 18th and 19th centuries.
