For double bass and piano, pianopart in orchestral and solo tuning, with solopart double bass.

Destinée is part of the cycle »Histoires«. The French title is supposed to be a reminder of the late 19th century »Musique de Salon«. The piece is written in a ternary form. Part A consists of a ballad-like, fateful theme in slow tempo. Part B in a rock-like style has a dramatic and virtuoso effect emphasized by the ostinato in the piano accompaniment.
