The ticking of a clock can have similarities to some alternate bass figures every double bass player knows from accompanying parts in the orchestra. In Tick-Tack both sounds are melting into a motorical rhythm for a lively quartet. The piece is also well suited for a performance with a large bass ensemble. Bass 1 should be experienced in thumb position.
