The three-movement suite Fancy Basses is a work for the rare ensemble of double bass sextet. The titles are associatively chosen and remind of imaginary film sequences. »Banner« describes a huge parade with a cheering, banner-waving crowd. »Hoobee« makes you think of »wild-west-romance« and »Poker­face« reminds of a thriller. Fancy Basses is ideally suited for a music college bass departement or orchestral bass section, looking for something original and new.
