The story of Circe, daughter of Helios and Perse, is part of ancient Greek mythology. She is able to transform strangers, who are entering her island, into animals – the companions of Odysseus for example she turned into pigs. The one-movement quartet includes a lot of changes in dynamic and rhythm. The first bass should have experience in thumb position, the other parts are intermediate.
