Ultimately, the human voice is also an - admittedly versatile - instrument. Sound intonation is essential. As a singer you have to develop a feeling for when the notes really sound clean. Thanks to the vertical structure, this device can be comfortably held with one hand. The staff shows the recognized notes so that you can intuitively know whether the sung tone corresponds to the intended note. The »Sound Back« function outputs a reference tone in parallel to show how it »sounds right«.

Pitch recognition for singers from KORG, the leading provider of tuners

A recorded voice always sounds different than you think - after all, when you sing, you hear yourself differently. This is because you hear the sound through different channels. It is not uncommon to have the impression of singing cleanly - but is that also the case?
With a little training, you can learn to hear yourself in relation to others and correct the pitch if necessary. This is a matter of course for instrumentalists. So why not for singing too? The VPT-1 was specially developed for vocals and is based on Korg's enormous wealth of knowledge.

Staff display

When singing into the built-in microphone of the VPT-1, the recognized pitch is displayed on a staff with a G or F key. The red diodes on the left indicate whether the tone is too high or too low: Then correct the pitch until only the blue LED in the middle lights up. With the octave function, the recognition area can be adapted to the voice position so that the recognized tones continue to fit into the displayed staff.

Three adjustable voice levels (levels of difficulty)

The accuracy of the pitch detection can be set in three levels. At first you could choose »EASY«, then switch to »MEDIUM« after a while. If you want to sing flawlessly, choose the »HARD« level.

‘Sound Out’ function with reference sound output

Anyone struggling with clean intonation will be pleased with the »Sound Out« function, which reference tones can output. For example, this is invaluable for songs that immediately begin singing. This function is also suitable for the clean meeting of different tones.

'Sound back' function for the output of the actually correct sound

The “Sound Back” function takes over the part of the vocal teacher: you sing a sound and the function plays the tonally correct note (headphone jack). This reference and the LEDs for the mood display stimulate three senses: eyes, ears and mouth.
